IGetBetterWellness’ Dr. Christopher P. Johnson recently published the chapter, How Technology is Bridging the Gap between Sport, Health, and Medicine in the textbook “The Use of Technology in Sport – Emerging Challenges,” 978-1-78984-483-2.
The chapter covers the significance of bringing sport, health, and medical professionals together in one platform as well as the lessons that can be learned when gateways of communication are opened between the three disciplines. Although they are different fields, Chris suggests that they are all operating under the same presumption that a healthier and happier life can be achieved with a healthy body and mind and thus the fields need open communication between professionals.
In his research, Chris analyzed how IGetBetter Wellness’ platform specifically addresses this concern by gathering all a client’s physiological data via smartwatches, scales, and other such devices and clearly organizes them in one database for the client’s health and wellness team to have access.
Dr. Johnson also highlighted the benefit of having such a platform for remaining in contact with clients after they leave the hospital or resort. “The job is not done once the client leaves, communication and a maintenance program should be in place to ensure the client remains successful.”
The chapter can be viewed in full here, please feel free to contact IGetBetterWellness directly to further discuss the value of implementing such systems into hospitals and resorts.
